G’day sewers !

I’ve been thinking of launching the ‘Burda Style Australia’ website branch.

I’m always aware of Burda Mode (now Burda Style) been launched and founded from Germany by Anne Burda prior or post WW II. I noticed this Burda Style website like this came from USA. Most of those sewers are from US; some from Australia and few other countries.

Most of patterns are bought from US depending US dollar only. I know about some of them so free.

We need any experienced person who is involved in sewmaking and website skills like this US Burda Style staff but in the Australian base.

Most of Australians love making things from Burda Style pattern books and pattern magazines but not all of us actually knew of this website nor Burda Mode website or both neither, I think. OK ?

Hey Aussie sewers, please feedback in response with thanks. :-)

Take care and have some fun with sewing times.

Belinda

HELLO, You might want to contact Nora from Burdastyle on this idea to check copyright issues etc… Use the contact page either below or click here http://www.burdastyle.com/contact/new. Good luck and happy sewing!

I’m pretty happy just logging on here, I like the international community and I’ve had no problems connecting with other Australian based sewers, I think we benefit from the larger community. Websites are so international now I don’t think it matters where it’s based or what currency we buy pattern in (to be honest I get a better deal buying in US dollar than buying here in Australia!) Others might see things differently but good luck if you give it a try. Maybe BurdaStyle could make it easier for other sewers to look up members in their area, I think we had something like this on the old site, how about encouraging them to bring that feature back?

I’d like to second your idea kaitui_kiwi that there is some way to search for members via locations. I am relatively new to burdastyle and would like to make some friends on here who live locally and with whom I can discuss Melbourne fashions etc. Does such a feature exist already and I have overlooked it?

Hey carla, have you checked out the Melbourne BurdaStyle Sewing Club? It sounds like their club is great and they get to meet at Tessuti Fabrics (so jealous!) I co-run the Perth version and I can tell you it is just so great to meet up and socially sew with other members so if you haven’t already check them out! :) xx

hey BlackOZButterfly, This website is part of Burda Style Germany and is a global site. If you are interested in finding Australian members you can type your city into the search bar and talk to different sewing club members. Best Alden

Gday Alden..Like I said, it comes from Germany but I saw the new BurdaStyle idea came from US till BurdaMode germany with all language translations has now been gone to USA base…Because I noticed all in this website seems strongly American. I wish BurdaFashion and original BurdaStyle (formerly Burda Mode) magazine websites should remain staying on forever because this BurdaStyle site relies with fashion patterns from BS magazine shows illustrated pattern techniques only not photos or pics !! (((sigh!)))

Hiya Alden – I tried typing in the city I live in ie “Adelaide” and then “South Australia” and no members came up as living here – not even me!!! I wonder if there is anyone in my city.. . I think what BlackOZButterfly is trying to do has some merit – but I agree with Katui kiwi, I really love the fact that BurdaStyle is an international site. Go BurdaStyle. It’s the “World Cup” of Sewing!!
