My schedule is less manic this year than I feared, and I’d love to start a club. I have plenty of space and lots of machines, and would be happy to host sewing meets, learning and teaching sessions, and help arrange trips out to various places of interest to sewists, such as fabric buying trips (there are several good places in Kent, but they tend to be a bit far flung and I don’t drive), museum trips (the V&A has some fab costumes, as does The Museum of London, and I’d love to organize a trip to Bath to the National Costume Museum, and then there’s the sewing machine museum in Balham… )
I’m based half way between London and Dover, close to main roads and the main North Kent railway line. Anyone else interested? I’m feeling a bit lonely here on top of the North Downs in the snow… ;) (No, unfortunately it hasn’t all gone!)

I’m bumping this one in the hopes that someone will see it and join me! This year turned out to be a lot more manic than I expected, but a LOT of fun, and I still have the space and the machines…

Hi Kate,
I would join you if I still lived on your side of the planet! I resided briefly in Farnborough village about 6 years ago. Good luck, I hope you get a group together soon.

I think I’m doomed to sew on my own, though I thought there was at least one other member fairly close… Oh, well! I tried!
And this coming weekend I have another gathering of The Mad Sewists of the Apocalypse, working on our 18th C wardrobes!

Hey Kate,
Did you try the Burdastyle Clubs Site? You might have better luck by location there. Just check under groups. Good luck and as always happy sewing!
