Here’s a hot tip I just discovered! If you turn JavaScript off in your browser preferences, you turn off ALL the ads on the site! The only thing is, the browser behaves a little quirky when posting with JavaScript off – you may need to use the back arrow to get back to a page that makes sense. And there may be other quirks I haven’t discovered yet. But what bliss to not to have to look at all those ads!

You can also download and turn on safariblock if you use safari or get adblock for another browser. Not sure if this works on java and flash ads… I just turned it on. I’m lazy, and this website is the first one that was such an eyesore that it made me actually do it. The ads are seriously annoying. They make the layout look REALLY unattractive. Some of them are just downright offensive to me, too.

I agree with alazyvcalm, this is the first website that I have felt the need to take measures for ad blocking. I use AdBlock Plus for Firefox, it is fantastic, you can pick and choose what to turn off, I get zero ads and it makes me happy.

I use Firefox as my browser. There is a very nice add-on called “NoScript” which allows one to block all or part of the annoying ads at each site. A caution. If you forget you have this active, odd things can happen. Some sites won’t post comments. But, to get rid of constantly moving ads (my pet peeve) is well worth the slight annoyances. Aaah…. bliss! No more things hysterically moving around in the upper right hand corner :-)! And I hope there’ll be no more faded screen due to the Burdastyle/BurdaFashion pop-up ad… Thanks!
