I’m just wondering is there a software that I can use to reset/bypass the windows login password on windows 2000 because the owner of the computer has forgotten it and wants to get access to the files. I would be grateful if you could post a link to a website where I can download one or buy one. Note: This problem is asked by Martin S on Yahoo Answer.
Windows Password Unlcoker is the awesome password recovery software for Windows 2000. It allows you to reset forgotten Windows password for both administrator and other user account in Windows 2000 in a matter of minutes, no matter your computer is acting as a domain controller or not.
Whether you need to reset domain password or local password in Windows 2000, the first thing is to create a boot password reset disk via Windows Password Unlocker. Download and install this program in any PC that you can run as admin, launch it and insert a USB flash drive in the computer. Select the inserted USB drive, click Burn USB button and a boot password reset disk will be created in seconds. You also create the boot password reset disk with a CD/DVD.
Reset Local Admin and User Passwords in Windows 2000
Step 1. Inset the boot USB drive in Windows 2000 and boot Windows 20a00 from the inserted USB, not local hard drive.
Step 2. When Windows Password Unlocker appears, select target user account that you want to reset password of, and click Reset button. The user password will be removed automatically a few seconds later.
Step 3. Click Reboot button to restart computer. Remove insert boot USB drive while restarting to make sure the computer will start from its local hard drive as normal.
Step 4. When Windows 2000 logon screen appears, click user account you’ve reset password of and sign in without password.
Important: The steps listed above based on the bootable password reset USB drive created with Windows Password Unlocker Professional. You’ll get more local password reset options with the Enterprise edition.
