We have reported this issue to Area17(Website Techs), and they think it is a server issue. They are working with our server provider to get it fixed, and may need to put the site in maintenance mode for a few hours to do this. They have not given me an estimated time for when they plan to do this, but I expect an update very soon.
From what I have been told, the issue does not seem to affect profile privacy at all.

I’m still having problems. I’ve tried changing the user namer back to my own but it still thinks I’m someone called Christopher Barrows. Then after I try to change it, I’m instantly transported to miss-g-1’s page. I hope the tech team can fix this bug.

Hello reliable,
I am sorry for this confusion.
In late fall 2011 BS experienced an error that caused accounts to be reassigned first and last names at random. The error has been since fixed but we are still noticing affected accounts. Because their username is accurate the error wasn’t noticed sooner. I believe this is what has happened to you. All you will need to do to correct the error is change your first and last name in your Personal Account Info under the *My Accounts tab in your profile.
