UGH!!!! i’m so sick of these full page ads. it seams like every time i click to go to another section of the website (like from projects to discussions) i get one of these things. i know about the “skip ad” button, but that only works half of the time, the other half the ad completely ignores the fact that i’ve clicked “skip ad” (so i end up clicking the button like 5 times).

i wouldn’t mind the ads so much if they were at least about sewing……but mine are always for that zwinky crap, or Jack In the Box (the food place).

can we fix the ads we have/get new relevant ones?

    maybe install an adblocking system, I use adblock IE for IE8 and have no ads anymore it’s great.

    Ugh that totally sucks! can you give me specifics (which pages to and from) and send me a screen shot? as soon as i get that we will take care of this, this kind of ads should not appear on our site

    after some “testing”, it’s almost always from projects to discussions, usually the main project page (that shows several projects at a time), but sometimes it’s a specific project. i’m working on getting you a screen shot, shoot me a message on the best way to get it to you.

    I have to agree! These ads are annoying and take forever to disappear. I go to click on projects and find myself staring at Zwinky ads for an eternity.

    It’s random, usually every 3rd or 4th page for me and you can’t close it until it finishes loading.

    I use Firefox, with the add on called Ad Block Plus and you can block all the ads. I started dong it becasue I got sick of those offensive weight loss ads (who needs that on this kind of site really?!) Now i don’t see any ads at all and I have never seen the full page ads you guys see. A few other members have discussed other ad blocking alternatives here http://www.burdastyle.com/discussions/discussion-rules-and-best-practices/topics/hot-tip-turn-off-the-ads

      I use AdBlockPlus for Firefox too, and it’s awsome! I didn’t even understand the topic of this discussion at first, that’s why I even read it – ads, what? – until I remembered I have an ad-blocking program…
      Go get it all the rest of you, you won’t regret it :-)
