Burda Style For people who sew

The last several email notifications I have received begin:

“Dear Caitlin,…”

That’s not my name ;) The notifications are definitely mine though…then I checked my Personal Account Details and my name has been changed to Caitlin Allen…I was just going to change it back to the correct name but I thought your IT peeps might want to look at it first…

Has anyone else’s account names mysteriously changed? Is the real Caitlin Allen’s account suddenly using my real name name? Should I be concerned about security?

I can confirm that the change happened on November 17th, I have one email saying, “Dear Melissa” at 7:58am followed by a second email “Dear Caitlin” at 10:37am

  Hmm… this is a weird thing that’s been happening over the past week. I’m still trying to get answers on what this is about. I will update when I find out.

  I had a similar thing, when I went to my personal profile my name had been changed to Laila Masa. That’s not my name. I reported this to David’s email address on his Burda profile.

  The same thing happened to me. I just noticed today, but my name must have been changed a few weeks ago. My account name was listed as Elizabeth Jones, which is not my name. I changed it back and reset my password, but it freaked me a out little when I finally realized.

    Not to worry. The error is only affecting the first and last names of certain users. No other information appears to be compromised. If you are affected by this, you can choose to only display your username until the problem is resolved. To do so, please do the following:

    - Go to your profile by clicking your name in the top right corner.
    - Click the “My Account” tab, and then “Personal Account Info” link.
    - On the “Personal Account Info” page, you will see a box with the text “Show my real name." Uncheck this box to only display your username on the site.
