I am trying to get the BSC Hampshire (UK) running but I am having trouble finding a (free) location.
I wanted to do it in my local Village Hall as it isn’t used much and I was hoping it would bring some life to the village. However they would charge us £10/hour.
I would like to have weekly meetings but at this cost it is going to be difficult.

I would like to hear from you and find out where do you meet?
If there are any costs involved, how do you cover for it?

Thanks!

    Hi There,

We certainly understand your concern. BSC Leaders utilize various venue options, including cafe spaces, bookstores and libraries. While you may not be able to bring sewing machines to these places, they are great for just talking and sharing projects. You could also contact local schools to see if they would allow you to use a classroom space after school hours.

If none of these options work, you may want to begin requesting small monthly fees (or dues) to your members in order to cover venue costs.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail me at team[at]burdastyle[dot]com.

Dear sewdoi, here in Bemidji, MN our BSC meets in the basement of a local church. This was the obvious choice as the majoirty of the people in this club also attend this church. We do not pay a fee for the use of the basement but we are required to make sure everything is cleaned up after the meeting is over. Also, all are welcome to attend the BSC meetings even if they do not attend that church. Maybe there is a church in your area that would be willing to open its doors for your group?
