Hi there fellow sewists,
I am looking to purchase a serger and I’m just starting some research. What do you all recommend? I’m looking for a sturdy, reliable machine. If you have a moment I would very much appreciate your opinions/explanations regarding which serger you think is best (for home use, not commercial).
Thanks!
Nic

go to some different stores or dealers. You need to try the machine and get lessons when you buy it. You should also look for one that is easy to thread.
Mine does rolled hem, overlock, two to four threads, differential feed. Some people like coverstitch but I just use a double needle on my sewing machine for hems.

There have been several discussions about this recently. Have you looked in the archives?
