Hello members!
I am excited to tell you that I am taking vacation to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and L.A. from April 2nd thru the 10th. I will not be online as often as usual, so please give me a little extra time to get to any issues that come up. I will either be on late in the evening after the days activities or early in the morning before my day begins or both. If you are wondering why I will be working while I am on vacation, is simply I love being on the Burdastyle website with all my favorite people! Keep sewing and I will keep admiring your work!

Thank you all! I just got back to my hotel room from traveling Historic Route66 and the Grand Canyon National Park. Every time I see the Canyon I am always amazed at the vast size and beauty. I will be heading back to the Canyon tomorrow for a nice little mule ride down some of the trails. I hope those mules know how to steer clear of the edge!

Well, we didn’t do the mule ride but instead pulled our gear together and did a 3 mile hike down into the Canyon. It was an 1140ft elevation drop and beautiful! Going down was slightly difficult, but coming back up was extremely hard and the whole hike took us nearly four hours. I thought I was going to have to be air lifted out as we chose the second most difficult trail to hike! What were we thinking? We did make it but we were told by park rangers that several people a year are rescued on that very trail, so I feel like I really accomplished something big. Anyway, I am sore today and expect to not be able to walk tomorrow. LOL
From the look of things on the BS site today you guys really have everything under control. How awesome is that? Please if anything comes up let me know and I will get right on it. Sew, sew, sew!

I did a hike like that in the Grand Canyon many years ago, with similar results! It is a grueling climb out, especially as there is a big temperature difference between the bottom and the top! Congratulations on your efforts, it IS a big thing – it has been one of my top memories for twenty years. The canyon itself is such an awesome sight “in the flesh” – none of the photos do it justice!

Glad to know I am in good company on this! One of the things that did amaze me was how quick my son, NathanL, made it up. He was at the top for a good 15 minutes before we got there and he would have gotten there quicker if we didn’t make him stop to take water breaks. Nothing like youth making you feel old!
There is just no way that photos can capture the beauty of the Canyon but they sure make great pictures. You are right Gedwoods, that it will be a fantastic memory in the years to come.

I survived vacation and am now back home and starting my kitchen remodel. We are doing demolition at the moment and hope that my hubby and I are not taking on more than we can handle. My life is just one adventure after another! Anyway, I am back and will be on as normal. Thanks to all of the members who helped out!
