Burda Style For people who sew
Hi guys, I will be going to France on hols in two weeks, cant wait. Was wondering could someone advice of cheap fabric shops in France. Was wondering do the big supermarkets sell fabric? I also have to buy a mannequin, and would love to know if anyone knows where I could buy one. Thanks in advance.

Maybe to late, but I will give you an answer anyway. At the foot of the Sacre Coeur, during the weekend you will find amarket and shops (during the whole week of cause) dedicated to fabric and fabric only. :) kind regards, François

Hi, thanks for the reply. We went to France and really I was unable to find any markets selling fabric. We stayed in LaRochelle and onway back stopped in Rennes. Will return to France again thsi Summer driving through Paris this time. So will be able to check out this market.Thanks

It is probably too late now but I compiled a little list of fabric stores in Paris on my blog www.chinesefrogsinparis.com
Check-it out if you have time. For the other questions, I haven’t seen the supermarkets selling fabric but then again within Paris the supermarkets are really tiny and only sell food. for the dress form (probably you already have one), I would strongly suggest not to buy it from France as it is extraordinarily expensive. If you’re lucky you would be able to catch a good deal on the net, but going into a shop would easily set you back around 2 – 300 euros.
I hope I could have helped you a bit even though it’s a bit too late now.

I heard about a nice fabric stores in Paris one called Toto, blvd Barbès and the other one Marché St Pierre, near the Sacré coeur.
