Hi! I am going to Copenhagen in a few days and I was wondering if anybody could tell me about any cool, cheap fabric stores and second hand shops! :) Thanks in advance!

Hi! Cheap second hand shops don’t exist in Copenhagen it seems, because second hand is fashionable here, so it is relatively expensive. But you might want to check out the little streets behind Rådhuspladsen, paralel to the main shopping street Strøget. There are quite some trendy second hand shops & designer stores in the ‘basement shops’ there. There are also plenty of fabric stores in Copenhagen. The main fabric store chain is ‘Stof 2000’ and you can find 2 in the street leading to Nørreport (street with metro exit).
Good luck and have fun! Susanne

Unfortunately I can’t, but you should report back, once you have been there. We would be curious to hear!

Yes, exactly – I saw this online but didn’t recognize, that you’ll find weblinks for fabric- and vintage stores when you’re browsing through the pictures

Thanks a lot, although the stores it has there are sort of more expensive. I was really looking for some cheap places. I have found out that the area for vintage and sort of selective second hand is the area that is between the streets: Vestergade, Nørregade, Nørre Volgade and Vester Volgade. So these are sort of expensive shops. I also went to a shop that has second hand clothes and is quite cheap compared to the others. It’s called Kirkens Korshær and it´s in Rosengården street. I got a really full skirt from there for 20 Kr that I am planning on turning into a dress quite soon. :D The only fabric store I have been to is Stof 2000 which is in Frederiksborggade close to the Nørreport metro. It was fine, it had all kinds of fabric, but in Athens it’s cheaper. :P

Sorry it’s not Kirkens Korshær but Kirkens Gensbrug!
