Yep, saw this on the cover of a magazine, and thought "Pfffh, I can make that". So I did. And I love it! I'm especially pleased with the way the pleats have made it really puffy and the button closure. The worst bit was sewing round and round the black ribbon, round and round and round.... also I didn't have quite enough ribbon, so I had to make up the gap with black polyester fabric in strips. But I put it at the back so t wouldn't e as noticeable.

I love this skirt. You did a great job!
I've been thinking about how to make a skirt with stripes winding around it all summer, but this is the solution! Well done, it looks great!

This skirt is great. I like it a lot :)
Beautiful work with the stripes. I might steal your idea :)
This is amazing. At first I was wondering where can I get striped fabric like that. Guess you can just sew your own.
Wow. Thanks for the comments, glad I've given you the solution to stripes! I'm not really sure if I can post a picture of the original? (New Look is a UK high street clothes store - they might have copyright issues.) Karencilla, I can't see the V Beckham pic :(
It's super!
Please don't sue me if I will still this idea from you in the future!
