I always wanted to make my own bavarian dirndl for the Munich Oktoberfest, and now I just managed it. It was really fun to sew it, with masses of fabric for the ample skirt part. I modified a pattern of the Burda Special "Modische Trachten" from 1989 to have buttons in the front instead of a zipper in the back and added white cotton linen at the bodice.

Beautiful! I love the buttons and your fabric choice. Shouldn't you be holding a couple of beer steins, though? :) Viel Spass!
looks great! i love the buttons, too! i know to buy a good dirndl is very expensive (my sister live in munich and is a dancer in the "hofbräuhaus"), so you did a great job to sew one. Viel Spaß auf dem Oktoberfest!
that is sooo cute and well made too.
This is superb!
I love the smocking on the skirt..so perfectly done :)
sweet!
WOW, most impressive.
Super! Those buttons are TDF!
Ohhh how cool! Isn't it fun to have a handmade outfit at festivals and the like for everyone to fawn over? Well done!
Beautiful. Now you just have to put on the "Kropfkette" and voilà - a "Bayrisches Madl". Ist ganz toll geworden. Viel Spass auf dem Oktoberfest!
I'm all jealous, my country is too young, we don't have a national costume. If we did I would like if it was as flattering and beautiful as your dirndl :o)
