Last weekend I went to the fleamarket and scrounged through piles of Indian sari's - I found this gem right at the bottom for R5 ($0.50!), I LOVE this fabric - the detail of the sequins and flowers is beautiful. We went to a wedding last night so I quickly made this dress and was still trying to finish sewing it an hour before the wedding -so last minute! I still have enough fabric to make a cushion from another beaded section of the sari so I'm very excited :-)

Wow! Stunning! This fabric is so so beautiful! I love the dress, with simple lines to make the fabric shine! And you made a very well use of the fabric for the pattern pieces!

Thank you SO much everybody for all the compliments :-) I was just very lucky to find such a good piece of fabric. Maldrich - The bottom of the sari always has a big border so I used that for the waist band, and the side borders for the top part, you usually get about 3m of fabric in a sari so it's a very good deal!!
