Description

this is a skirt made from handwoven swiss fabric. it is traditionally used for the tracht - the traditional costume in switzerland. i guess i made more of a tartan skirt out of it. i actually made the skirt a couple of years ago but recently learned the reverse bobbin technique where you can used many beautiful thicker threads but you sew the garment on the left side (you can use more different material in the bobbin rather than on top). so i fancy-stitched the edges of the skirt a little while ago. i think it just adds an extra little something. the pattern was supposed to just look like a wrap skirt but i actually changed it to a wrap skirt. man i really wish i would have ironed it before shooting it!

Materials

hand-woven fabric that my mom gave me from switzerland

Credits

my mom for being awesome and bunny for teaching me such fun techniques

I love your creation! would you do a how-to on the reverse bobbin technique you used for the decorative stitching? I adore what you did.
