Description

I had cut the parts of Jennifer pattern a long time ago but I wasn't too enthusiatic about it, nor the fabric which I found slightly tacky. At the end of June, I went to see the My Bloody Valentine playing a gig at the Roundhouse in London. The front woman, Bilinda Butcher, was wearing a beautiful blouse with a pleated 'bib'. I decided to apply the idea to the Jennifer pattern. The mistake for me was that I had cut the front neck inset(see last picture) and it was difficult to sew it back to the front part. So next time, if I ever reproduce the blouse (uhmm crepe fabric would be great) I would redraft the neck line(a straighter curve rather than a plunging one)before cutting the fabric. The gig was great and so was Bilinda Butcher's melodic voice over the overwhelming wall of sound

    Working on JJ blouse.

Beautiful blouse. It looks a little romantic I think. So how did you resolve the neck? It looks perfect from the front. Beautiful pictures too.

The moment I saw this creation's image on the Creations page (where your head is cropped and the blouse is in focus), I knew it was your blouse! It reminded me of the "Frou frou JJ", even though these two blouses are completely different. Your style is recognizable. As usual - you made a gourgeous, original blouse which, I think and hope so, will inspire us all. Bravo!

    3 day weekend coming up!

Love the detail of the pin tucks on the shoulders, hem, and the back of your blouse. You did such a wonderful job. You make me want to try harder when it comes to sewing. Thanks for the inspiration!
