I have boxes of beautiful old linens in my basement, hidden from view and largely forgotten. When the Jennifer Sew Along started this amazing linen tablecloth with appliquéd and embroidered lanterns popped into my mind. Why not bring it out of the dark and let it see the world? I wanted my Jennifer to have a more summery feel than it's plaid counterpart so I cut the neck a little wider and deeper and made wide, floaty sleeves with no cuffs. I was going to add the pleats at the waist but ended up feeling there was enough going on with the lanterns and the hand pick-stitching which was on the original tablecloth. I just let it fall where it may.

This turned out beautifully!
That is amazing! I love the changes you've made and the way the red buttons pick out the colour in the embroidery. The neckline is lovely. You're showing off this fabric in the best possible way.
Beautiful. Love what you did.
Brilliant use of the linens-- I love the embroidery! And it suits the style of the tunic so well.
