I made this for prom, out of some discount fabrics from Joanns. It was my first sewing project, and I used bits and pieces from 3 different authentic vintage patterns to make it. I had a terrible time with the zipper, and ended up just buying a seperate petticoat rather than attaching anything. The middle cummerbund is separate from the rest of the dress. I also made matching bowtie and cummerbund for the boyfriend, but I'll post those in a different post.

Great dress, really suits you, the color is very nice, how did you find sewing with vintage patterns?, as i've a hugh stash, but haven't used any yet.
Very retro dress. Great work, especialy since it's your first project!
Your first project! Wow...aren't you cleaver? And adorable. Looks like you had a great prom :-)
Thanks all!
And as to vintage patterns, I had a TERRIBLE time with them.... none of the sizes were right, and they had pieces missing and such, but the result is worth it 100%!
