To give the dress a dressier feel I added contrasting elastic casing and the same contrasting pattern at the hem. I am still debating adding interesting patch pockets...what do you think???

Thank you so much EmilyKate, and Might I Add...I LOVE your Burda World of Fashion 04-2007-125B Red Top, Excellent Work! I would love one like that for myself!
I love the sheen and the detail incorporated in this fabric, even though it is one color it has A Lot of dimension to it.
I could not resist the same fabric in black and grey, stay tuned for what I create with it.
What do you think… should I add pockets? I was thinking about pleated patch pockets.
Yep - I think pockets would look terrific on this dress.
i love this vibrant color! and the trim is lovely. i'd actually vote against the pockets, unless you were thinking of in-seam (and therefore invisible) pockets... I like the clean, simple, flowing lines of the skirt as is- I think pockets would take away from the "greek goddess" vibe!
Great shade of blue!! Love it. Like Elainemay, I think the pockets would complicate the clean lines..also it might draw away the eyes from the cute trimmings you added.
I vote against pockets, too, it looks great on its own. Though, I personally WOULD add in-seam pockets, because I feel bad without pockets. ;-)
This was very creative to add some trimming.
Thank You, Thank you Ladies! I guess I made the right choice by omitting the pockets...its true what they say, your FIRST Instinct is usually Right!
Please girl, don't add pockets, it would make this classy dress look old fashioned and too busy. Good job! Inseam pockets will work, and I love them, I use my pockets all the time. This pattern is wonderfully simple and easy to wear!
love the fabric combination.
