This is my first creation from a pattern. It said it should be very easy, but it actually took me quite a long time to understand the pattern and to assemble the skirt. I finished it today at last! It started simply as a first attempt, just to learn and see what came out but I'm pretty satisfied with the result. I must say I made some alterations. I wasn't crazy about having to do with zips and buttons, so I turned the waistband into a "tunnel" for a ribbon* I made and which I tie at a side. (simply where the tunnel remained open). Second alteration: I put no lining in my skirt. It's lighter and I thought it would have been harder to make. Any suggestion?
*the ribbon was probably the toughest part of all. I don't know how the idea came to my mind but I achieved it at the third attempt :P.

nice job, especially for a first try! i think the side ties are a great detail- more interesting than zippers or buttons. congratulations on making a beautiful first project that you can actually wear and be proud of. none of my first attempts at sewing clothing were anything i'd want to leave the house in!
What a lovely skirt! It looks like it must be so much fun to twirl around in it! I love wearing full skirts, mostly for the twirling. . . I'm glad my how tos were helpful for you! You've done an awesome job!
SO pretty! You did a really lovely job!
Lovely full skirt! It must be very comfortable. :-)
I do love this skirt....
Oh it's SO pretty! Great choice of fabric too. :) I'm also planning to make one, once my sewing machine gets itself repaired.:)
hey really good, specially for a first job. i found pattern language a pain too. my husband found a thing on you tube for me tho, a video on how to understand and read a pattern, which made things easier!!! i recommend checking it out.
