Finally found some time to post this. I finished last week in time for my niece to go to her dancing competition. I logged the time it took to make this one. About 24 hours all told, from cutting to completion. I’ve since heard about ruffler feet for sewing machines that actually gather and attach ruffles and maybe one of these would cut down considerably the time. The most time consuming parts were stitching on the ribbon to bottom edge and gathering the bottom tier. I used Anniestitches' technique for the bottom layer of gathering and it did make it a little easier. Just one row of basting and gathering each section up to specified length. Thanks Anniestitches.
