Roland Mouret style dress

Description

I loved the dress that I've seen on Victoria Beckham and Dita von Teese, but obviously without the necessary monetary means, I turned again to my faithful machine. So here's the result! I started with a long skirt which was a little over waist high, which I took in with four big darts. Then I made the top, ith the back copied off a tshirt and the front just a long rectangle which I darted and adapted with the help of my new dress form! and then attached the sleeves. I think this is a pretty messed up way to make a dress, but it kind of worked.

Materials

This was made with a kind of thick black cotton, with a kind of check pattern, and a long zipper.

Credits

Sorry Roland.

Quite elegant. I'm not quite sure what all you did to get this result, but it's a fantastic result ;-)

has a new machine but is on hiatus.

Thanks everyone :) well actually toupinette, its not as perfect-fitting as I would like, it's still a bit loose around the waist (hence the belt)...
