What to do with an old skirt which have not really a "up today length"? (not really long, ends over ankels)
Make a dress :)!
The cut of this skirt is terrible, but the fabric is nice. So I decided to make something new. I use the burda pattern number 8071 (you can buy it on www.burdafashion.com).
Quick, easy, and very comfy to wear. Because of the fabric I need no zipper. I added an elastic band at the waist. The fabric is not stretchy, but hm... crinkeld?! Sorry, I don´t no the name of it :/.
I think it looks better when I wear it with a waistbelt.

Wow, I'm totally overwhelmed! How did you get that dress out of that skirt? Seams nearly impossible to me! The result is very impressive and way better than the skirt!
this is absolutely beautiful! what an amazing transformation!
I love your new dress! A great transformation.
it is great! in your 3rd and 4th photos, it looks like the black part of the fabric matches up perfectly with your waistline. It's like this dress was meant to be!
Oh you did a fabulous job of recycling. I too have a skirt which is ankle length and made of a crinkle type fabric, that I was thinking about converting into a dress because I no longer wear it. You have inspired me to go ahead and do it.
Wonderful dress- I too am amazed that you found enough fabric in the skirt!
I like it more without the waist belt. I am agree, this is an amazing transformation and this dress fits you perfect.
I like it!
This is a cute dress! My mother used to have similar silk skirt, she never wore. So, I made a simple dress out of it - that's how I know this can be done for sure! :) Well done!
Great remake!! Really cute and looks wonderful on you!
