i found the fabric while shopping at walmart. as soon as i saw it, i knew i couldn't leave the store without it. then luckily, i found this pattern soon after and decided to make it. i left out the collar because it didn't make sense to me, and had to use an 18" zipper because i didn't have a 12" one. other than that, it turned out perfectly. this dress doesn't look like much when it's on a hanger, but it sure looks good when you put it on! =] the sleeves are a little shorter than what i'm used to, so i might make arm warmers to wear under it when it gets cold out. i'm still in high school, so i had to wear it as a top instead of a dress, but i still got a lot of compliments on it.

What a great color for that dress!
Every time someone makes a Pollini dress, I tell myself I'm going to make one, too! I love the red color and hope you'll get lots of wear out of this piece. :) Also, here is a how-to on shortening zippers if you are interested... Coats and Clark Demo
thanks for the zipper tip (hehe, rhyme). i'm sure that'll come in handy later =] and thanks for the nice comments. =] =]
I think it looks great both as a dress and as a tunic - a versatile piece of clothing!
Wow! That dress looks great on you.
