Jj, I really like that pattern and am thinking of making the dress too, but I have my reservations because I'm at the beginner/intermediate stage. I feel it could be a little too hard! The main thing I'm concerned about is making the pockets, the belted bit around the waist and the buttons at the front as neat as possible. Was it hard? What was the hardest bit for you? Oh, and were the instructions easy to follow? (I had a little read and was a bit baffled in places...maybe I just need to throw myself into it and see how it goes!)
good job! I think yours is the best constructed of the others' versions.
I'm currently making one (or two) of this design myself. I've made a sloper first and am so very glad that I did! I've taken the flaps off the pockets (combined pieces 4 &6A), minimized the bustline (hey, I'm small), and fixed the strap issue by 1) shortening it 2) making sure both the outer & lining cloth have a tighter weave 3) having the bodice more snug (although every garment with both a low back & front will have some sort of meandering straps --there's just not enough support).
I'll post the garment on this site when I'm through. thanks for letting me rant here. :) ~Val.

I can't wait to make this dress myself. I hope I can make look half as good as yours. Great job!
Excellent! Really good job!
wow that is class, so nice & so professional looking, I hope to achieve this someday soon!
It looks great and comfy but the straps keep falling off shoulders.
