Wool Dress

Size_chart

Description

This is the first fully lined dress I have made. The lining was a bit tricky to work with. I made the top part too big so had to bring it in quite a bit at the sides (since then I've been reading up on how to fit patterns better to the body). I'm really happy with how it turned out and plan to make another one, but this time measure myself correctly and get the fitting spot on from the start (hopefully)

Materials

80% Wool Blend Fabric, Lining, Zipper, Thread

    reconsidering summer sewing plans

The fit looks very good now! And the dress looks great! Did you use a pattern? I've found out the hard way that sometimes the fit of a pattern is not what you'd expect from reading the sizing table. Looking at it and measuring yourself is always a good idea, but I once made a muslin for a Simplicity blazer in size 12 (which I had, according to the sizing table), only to find out that I had to take it in so far, I had to make it in size 6.

Sorry I forgot to add the pattern I used (i have done that now). Thanks Laurina and everyone for the comments, I measures my hip and waist which were a size 12, but my bust was a size 10 and I forgot to taper the pattern in at the top. I won't do that again!
