Reconstructed from a thrifted men's shirt. Inspired by a blouse by the same name at Anthropologie.com (or at least it was there until recently!) But I like the colors of mine better. Even though it makes me think of those "Rosie the Riveter" ads from the 40s.

I LOVE it! You are so clever to see this hiding in an old mens shirt. and I LIKE that it's got that Rosie Rivetter look :o)
ooo it looks so great on you! I love recycled clothing, and I would love a how-to even more!
such a nice fit, pretty details, and I like how you lined up the stripes in the back darts! (It seems like it would be something I'd overlook)
what a great recon!!! I love how cute and retro it is. bravo! :)
So cute! I'd also love a "How to"!
I like it! You actually made the idea of an asymmetrical closure work. I tried it once, but made it too much to the side.
I have to say, I would also LOVE a how to! When I think of all the great mens shirts I see in thrift shops... Excellent job.
Waow! You should definitly post the pattern!
So you finished it! And it looks great, the stripes are perfectly matched and everything!
Hey all, and thanks for all of the nice comments! Just wanted to ask a question regarding a how-to for this: I didn't actually make a pattern for it, pretty much what I did was dissect the original shirt and then drape out the top using my sewing dummy. I did take a lot of pictures, as I was documenting the progress on my blog, so I'm willing to do a how-to. But since the way I did it would pretty much have to be draped, either on a dummy or with the help of a friend, is that something you're still interested in me posting?
Also, ReneeBeth-- the stripes on the darts was just a happy accident. ;-)
I really like this top! I love shirts that button not in the middle. And bonus points for recycling. =]
