I challenged myself to make a dress for a wedding in about a month (while I'm working on projects for my Sewing I class at FIT). Inspired by the gold-trimmed version on Burdastyle, I found a smaller gold trim & went with a deep blue material. The shoulders were tricky, so I added darts like others have mentioned. I'm also posting a picture of my parents who came to the reception because they are just so cute (and my mom always answers my sewing questions).

Blue & Gold MinnaDescriptionMaterialsCotton fabric with a nice silky-like sheen that I found at mood (I'm still learning, so silk is a scary thought) & gold circle trim. Check out the matching Osman Tie- whoo! That was the extra credit of my challenge to myself. Credits

Very cute - good fabric choice. Looks like raw silk without costing like raw silk! Yay for cotton!
