Size_chart

Description

This was my first attempt at a Burda Style pattern. The first of many I hope!

I added some piping around the waistband and belt carriers. If I had thought of it I would have added some around the back pocket as well.

Materials

Stretchy blue fabric with white pinstripes (sorry don't have details - it was on sale!)

White piping

Wooden buttons

Zip

Really cool fabric for these pants, I like your idea with the piping! it makes them look nautical and fresh.

Love your pants! Was it hard doing the piping? I have never done this before but would like to give it a go one day! The extra detail really makes the pants look wonderful. Great job!!

Oh wow I only put this up last night and there's so many comments - how nice! Thanks guys.

Piping is so easy! To position it correctly I just sewed it on the right side of one of the fabrics that would make up the seam. I used a zipperfoot and just machine basted it in, using my fingers to roll the cord out a little bit so I could get in nice and close.

Then I put the other fabric on to sew the seam properly and I used my nails to press down and see where the piping was so I could sew nice and close to it neatly, again with the zipper foot.

I think I am going to become a piping addict.
