Desira w/ flower embellishment

#7911 Product of Burda (15616) (10208)

Description

the flower embellishment was actually the result of a happy accident. while i was using pinking shears on the seam allowance, i accidentally cut a hole in my garment! so my clever sister-in-law suggested i make a little layered flower with some scrap material to cover the patched hole and i really love the result!

Wow I love your Desira! I'm about to start my own, and I love the constrast in color you used. One question - did you find that the pattern ran large? (did you use a smaller Burda size for this blouse than your normal Burda size?)

    Is back and sewing!

I like the flower too, and the color combination is one that I wouldn't have thought to put together but works very well! I'm curious--why were you using pinking shears in the seam allowance? does it keep the fabric from fraying?

what a brilliant mistake! i would've sworn you planned it. your desira is beautiful, and the fabric looks so comfy.

I love it! The blue with the flower print is striking. I like the "mistake" it adds a nice touch.

cicaktoes -- thanks for the comment! as for your question, i didn't find that it ran large. i used my normal burda size and it fits perfectly.

reneebeth -- yes, i like to use pinking shears on unfinished seam allowance edges to prevent fraying.
