Twinkle Dress

Size_chart

Description

I bought the Winter 2007/2008 issue of Vogue Knitting because of this dress. I fell in love with it while browsing through the magazine at a local store. (There are some other great winter patterns in it, too)

It was a quick knit, I managed to finish it in one weekend. The bulky yarn makes it very fast to knit (and very worm). The pattern was easy to follow, as well.

The dress looks good over jeans, but I like the original design over a long dress, so I sew a simple jersey dress/lining; a long tank top with a wide bottom.

Wow. I feel very small. I think I'll give up my knitting career...I am now convinced that it isn't going anywhere. ;) Great job. This is lovely!

    Is back and sewing!

Gorgeous! I think yours looks better than the one on the Magazine. A richer color!

way too busy for loads of sewing

WOW!! I saw the magazine cover online somewhere and loved it, but I thought it would be way beyond the knitting capabilities of just about anyone young enough to wear it... Yours looks amazing! You should definately make a long dress to go with it, that would be so elegant.

    making too many at ones

This looks sooooo great! I like the color you used! I know I can't knit, but maybe I'll get my mother to do it. Winter is almost over here, so could be finished before it starts again ;)

This is very neat. Is it difficult to use the knitting machine? I would say your investment was well worth it!

    Thank you,

Enero; I couldn't use the machine for it becase the yarn was too bulky, It is all hand made. For all of you intiminated by the size of the dress, the knitting really goes very fast due to very thick yarn and large needles. It also looks much more complicated than it really is, the cable is the simplest there is. If you have made a sweater before you won't have any issue with it. Be brave! Try it!

It's cute...and yes, looks like a fairly simple sweater to make with great effect.
