This is a variation on the Lydia pattern...sort of. I can't print off patterns very well right now (not the website's fault, I don't have a printer/paper right now), so I just traced a shirt that fits me well and lengthened it to be like a dress, going out at a 45 (ish) degree angle instead of straight down. I made the sleeves by guessing, which is why they're a little bunchy in the armpits, but that's about all. I made little tucks down the neckline like in the Lydia Dress How-To, only I forgot to put the placket behind it. I'm not sure how that would have changed the outcome, but I'll have to try it next time considering I'm going to make this dress in every color of knit cotton I can find, it's so comfortable and flattering!

Wonderful! And great photos also :-)
I don't know if anyone really still looks at this creation, but I just wanted to post that today I wore this and got lots of compliments, one girl actually asked me where I got it! I'm so glad I found this website that encouraged me to make my own clothing and have the courage to wear it, too!
this dress is super cute and fits you really well!
You have a good reason to be proud! The dress is really nice, compliments for the alterations you made on the original pattern. And you look charming in it :).
Can you make me one? I adore it.
That looks wonderful! I've been looking for some inspiration for a knit dress. I'll have to give it a try. Yours turned out so nice.
