Andrea Blouse

# N/A Product of Burda (2370) (1763)
Size_chart

Description

That's the name of a little girl that was babtised in our church today... and I finished this blouse today. It's my own pattern, based on JJ's sloper; my very first attempt at serious pattern alteration. And I'm very happy with it, even though it probably could be better. I did the thing that you should not do, lengthened the sloper by simply lengthening the seam lines. I CAN do that, my waist size is one Burda size smaller than bust size, but you, unless it's the same with you, you SHOULDN'T do that. Also my very first attempt at raglan sleeves. At first they were too tight. (I drafted the sleeves myself, following instructions in a pattern-making book from local library, and those on Vintage Sewing.) So I added underarm gussets and now they're awesomely comfortable, just like raglan sleeves should be. It closes with a zipper on left. I can even put it on with the zipper closed without any problems, but taking it off isn't so easy, so I'm glad it's there. The whole thing is just as comfortable as a t-shirt, and looks nicer, so I think it was a big success. I'll definitely use this pattern again. I think it could even make a nice dress. EDIT: Now on my blog, with more details - so far only in Czech, hopefully I'll translate it later... http://marmota-b.blog.cz/0804/halenka-andrea EDIT 2: I posted the details in English on Craftster: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=250150.msg2778813#msg2778813

Materials

100% cotton (at least I think), thrift store: print baby duvet cover + yellow fabric for piping (still lots of it left for other projects) = 15 CZK; white cotton thread + yellow (invisible, YKK) zipper = free, because we had them at home

The seaming on this top is great! It is so easily altered for both larger and smaller sizes.

Great pattern, you are very gifted!

Thanks, thanks, I'm blushing... almost. :-) I don't understand it as much as to know that it is easily altered, but I'm glad to learn it is.
