I used only the inner-layer pattern for this dress. It turned out better than I expected.

Wow, that gives the Azalea dress a completely other look which is great! Like the version with the belt the most :) Good job!
Looks a million times better than the original pattern. Great job.
hey this is nice :D i was thinking of doing the azalea too... did you use the zipper at all or is the fabric little bit elastic?
No, I did not use zipper for this dress as the fabric is elastic
It turned out really well. A very good variation of Azalea.
I like how this one is turned out. Looks realy better than original version.
what a great idea! i love the dress, you look great
so cute! how much fabric did you need when you only used one layer? please write back on my wall! i bought 2 1/2 yards of fabric hoping to do both layers of the dress, but i dont know if its enough!
Sorry stacey for not writting back to you sooner. I have not check burda for several days. For inner layer, it really does not require more than 1 and 1/2 yards of fabric. But for both layers, you might need less than 3 and half yards depending on the width and how you cut the fabric. I would also suggest alter the pattern a bit below the waist so that it will fot better(esp. for knit fabric).
Hi - you have inspired me to do the Azalea without the upper skirt as well. I notice that yours is quite narrow in width - did you take it in on the side seams? Great dress, by the way!
