I made this coat of a fire red cotton. The pattern is easy to sew and the fit is great.
only the topstitching at the sleeves, the seam, the collar and the revers made it a kind-of-never-ending-project.

This coat is a great success. How did you cope with the fact, that it is meant for smaller women? I was thinking to make it, but since I'm 170 cm tall, will it fit me? Laura also mentioned that it is a very time consuming project, but your both creations are awesome, so I guess it was worth the effort.
Very ambitious project. Great choice in the fire red fabric. It makes a statement. I particularly like the 20 rows of topstiching in the hem. Wow.
Thanx a lot! @marijapo: actually I am petite size (153cm) so there was no need for changes. Although I made a petite size 19 I had to shorten it. I think you can lengthen it and rearrange the pockets and the smocking without problems because the pattern of the bodice is straight. maybe you have to add width to it, but this don't seem to be very tricky to me.
I love it, and checked out the link. I'm having a horrible time, though navigating the Burda site. Do you know if this pattern can be purchased singularly, or must one have the magazine. Can a back issue of the magazine be ordered if so? I really love it and would love to give it a shot!
