I fell in love with this pattern the moment I saw it! This sleepy little feline's name is "Tiger Kitty" because of the distinctive markings on her soft, cozy fleece "fur". Her eyelashes are made of shiny black pvc ribbon, and her whiskers are constructed from black fishing line. Her nose and inner ears are made of soft pink satin.
Tiger Kitty was my first effort at making a vintage Burda Moden Pattern. I had to work from the picture since the instructions were in German. I'd still like to know what the directions say. Are there any German speaking friends out there who might be willing to translate? (Does anyone know what "träumerchen" means?)
She was so much fun to make that I feel inclined to make her some companions. French Kitty and Kitty BlueJean are on the way. Do you have any ideas?
Another project from my fabric stash, Tiger Kitty consumed about 2/3 yard of fleece and a 20 ounce bag of fiberfill.

So cute! Definitely make Tiger Kitty some friends, just so long as they remember who's territory it is! I've actually used google translate a bit recently as I had letters from Burda in German, and sadly I am not bilingual. I found it quite helpful. Sometimes i found breaking up the word helpful for what appeared to be compound words. I'm jealous of your vintage Burda magazines!
Unfortunatelly, I can't read it very well... but here's my try at something: 101 front something ("cat piece"?!), cut 1x; 102 someting, cut 1x; 103 head piece, cut ?x, 104 belly, cut ?x; 105 probably paw, cut ?x; 106 ear, cut 2x; 107 ?; 108 some sort of a bag?
The rest is, unfortunatelly, too complicated for such quick translation I'm doing now (and for my German), but here are some terms I understand: Teil = (pattern) piece, Vlieseline = interfacing; (zu)schnitten = cut; ansetzen = something like put together; von X bis Y = from X to Y; Watte = (cotton) filling. Nähen = sew.
Obviously, you didn't need this to make two beautiful cats!
I love this so much I cannot tell you! So dinky!
Träumerchen = little dreamer.
Träumer = dreamer. -chen = little.
