Description

The Design of this Kimono Style jacket was inspired by Kasia26 Design submission. It is a Kimono style jacket that can be worn as a top over pants or as a jacket if in heavier material. We liked the look of it so much that we ended up giving one to Naomi Campbell when we met her at DLD this January. She was equally smitten with it. We hope you enjoy it too, we are looking forward to seeing many variations.

OMG, OMG! I can’t believe it! I had no idea my design would inspire a pattern. I am soo honored. And Naomi Campbell might wear it! (my jaw dropped). Thank you BurdaStyle! I like your version so much better!

So beautiful! How futuristic! Yet inspired by a traditional clothing. I have been dreaming of such a kimono jacket. Must be my next project.

I agree, the structure is very interesting (from looking at the pattern), too bad the busy print here makes it impossible to decipher ;)

Next on my list, aswell. Of course, there are still other entries ahead XD

    Catching up on unfinished projects

I like the unique details on the jacket. I'm not sure if it's quite my style, though, I'll probably wait to see how it looks in a different fabric. Do those aqua spandex pants scare anybody else?!

This could be a good beach coverup in a light cotton.

LOVE IT! Is it possible to make the back yoke just one piece instead of having a seam? It would be a good place to display some really pretty part of the print. Or a good place for all your mistakes to really show! ;-)

This is the next thing I'm making, I can't wait.

    enjoying summer.

It's great to have the line drawing for this pattern. Although the sewn garment looks great, it's impossible to see the neat details because it's so busy. Looks like a really fun top!

way too busy for loads of sewing

Congratulations Kasia! I have to say, it's quite nice to have such a 'different' pattern on Burdastyle. However, if not for the line drawing, I'd have no idea at all about the construction. I'm sorry, but I don't think much of Burdastyle's choice of fabric here, and kallers, I'm terrified by those pants...

a great pattern! i'm already printing it. i am going to choose for a solid fabric to bring out those beautiful lines and details of the pattern.

those pants, HUH! they are scaring me as well, i thought it had to do with my age ;)

    sewing summer clothes.

Congrat. Kasia! Ummm, I was thinking that the side seam front and back can be one piece as well as the center back. The ties on both side will bring/show the waist without the need of curve side seams. I'm a big fan of minimal seams in garments now.(lazy girl)

    finally holidays!

Yeah ... the pants ... they are ... mh ... well, great pattern :D It's really extravagant. The fabrics is cool, but makes it here really difficult to understand that pattern. I'm also unsure, whether it's my style. And how do you get in? Am I right, that it is not like a jacket you can open at the front, but have to drag on like a pullover?
