Description

I had a lot of fun making this jacket. I don't normally wear anything like it, so I knew it would be a great jacket to start branching out in my wardrobe. I'm in graduate school and want to start looking a little more polished but still be comfortable in a casual work environment.

As far as the actual construction, I picked my size based on my high bust measurement and did a full bust adjustment to add length and width to the front pieces. I had the same problem as TiffanyR with the bias strips flipping up - I'm still waiting to see if they will respond to a couple more pressings, or if I will need to tack them down in places. I've posted a more detailed description of the construction here: http://talk.sew-whats-up.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1440

Materials

Fine wale corduroy, quilting cotton for bias strips and the lining

Credits

Very much inspired by TiffanyR - I even ended up with similar fabrics!

For Techniques:
"Vogue Sewing" for fitting
Claire Schaeffer's "High Fashion Sewing Secrets" for interfacing
