The MiniChallenge is fun, so I decided I will do it, and I have a new skirt. I sew the skirt according to the pattern, then I widen the waistband. ( the total is about six inches ~ not including seam allowence ) The waistband is a little different, instead of using a rectangle, I draw a pattern. ( go to how to, I put the so-called pattern )The skirt was a little big for me,I also narrow it a little. For the thing that go over the shoulder, ( i don't know what it calls) i put a button there, so It's removeable. For the place that I put the belt, you could replace it with a long piece of fabric and tie a big bow on the side. ( I'm still finding some color that matches the skirt color ) On the bottom, I fold it in a few layers. I post this yesterday, but it didn't work... hope it works this time

Hello I just love the waist line. Can't wait to make myself one like this. I fist thought to make a pant with the same waist line, but this skirt is just perfect - I have some dark brown fabric (mix od cotton and wool). Thank you for the idea.
I like what you've done at the waistline. That V gives interest to the waistband. BTW, the straps are call suspenders here, other places they are called braces. They put the weight of a garment on the shoulders, instead of the waist.
I like the waistband detail-- the V makes it way more interesting than just a plain high waist would have.
That looks great! I've been wanting to do a patter with suspenders, and this is perfect! Also, I agree with sunnyb64, the V on the waistband totally gives it that punch!
Very sassy! The suspenders add a nice touch. The hemline is unique too.
This is GREAT, you've got my vote!
When I first saw the skirt, I thought someone was modeling a store-bought skirt! (I'm a new-bie to the site) I am just learning what all this site has, but I especially enjoy seeing what others have created. You did an extremely good job on this skirt. I have sewn for about 30 years (am 40 years old). Really good job! Suggestion: cut the area down about that fits over the tops of your legs (my mom calls them "saddlebags"!), because it still looks slightly too big for your frame. Also, shorten the suspenders, and work a lil more on insertion of a zipper. But your own variations of the pattern are really awesome. Very intuitive. Keep up the good work! Mississippi, USA
Thank you for all of your nice comment and suggestion, it makes me feel happy... the skirt does look cute, but if you look up close... it has some mistake here and there...... however, it's fun to make my own clothes.. thank you all...
