I lowered the waist and thickened the waist band. I added pockets in the front as well as a pocket in the back with a fun pieced-together style. Instead of a zipper I used buttons for closure in the back. The skirt is also a little shorter than the original. I also used turquoise thread as a decorative aspect throughout.
