Description

Here is my new canvas Camera Bag / Man Purse. It's 7 inches wide and 10 inches tall. This is mine and I'm making two more for friends.

Materials

I used Brown canvas, foam (to pad the sides and bottom of the bag), piping, and hardware: zipper, d rings, and a buckle.

Credits

I copied a faux-Leather camera bag I had bought from a thrift store

If you buy a piece of fabric only get 14" (of a 55") bolt (inches)

cut the strap, 4", from the width of the bolt - then fold and press and sew for a strap that 1.25-1.5" wide

The side panels: 7x10
top is two panels: 3x16
bottom is one panel: 5x20

You also need some foam:
2 pieces: 7x10
and one piece for the bottom: 5x18.

you want the width of the bag to be 4 inches all around so keep a close track on the seam allowance these measurements give.

I know these are not super-complete instructions, but figuring it out is have the fun...right?

Looks really cool. Hmm, I think I'm going to need a camera bag too before we go on holidays later this year. My plastic polaroid has a bag, but my SLR is currently left to the elements (one of those elements being me).

I thought it was a camera bag! Good job, I especially like that it's canvas and not faux leather, it makes it look more like a "bag" then just a "camera bag". Also I think you're the first guy I've seen on here, props to you.

You are really talented. I was looking for a camera bag just a week ago. The camera bags out there were just so plain. I thought of making one myself but I didn't have the patience. So, I just bought one :( I envy you... By the way, all your works are really cool and inspiring.

Oh, great job! I also like how you used canvas and that it looks more like a general bag - could used as one, I'm sure. I guess I should make one for me, too - even though with more room also for the cable and memory card and batteries... but this one will serve like a perfect inspiration!

wishing to have time to sew ...

I love it .. do you have a pattern for this kind of bag? Maybe you should do a "how to" ... because you make great bags.
