This skirt was on my mind for a while, now. When the Sidonie pattern came up, it seemed to be easily convertable to my design. I uploaded it with the plan to use it one day. The MiniChallenge gave me a finnal push. First, I sew the skirt according to the pattern, the hip area turned out to be to curvy for me, so I had to straighten them up. Next step was the waide waist band. I did it using the "try it on, pinch, pin and sew" technique. It took a while. Then I did the pleats. I am thinking about making a how-to, but I am not shure how it will work out yet.

So Beautiful, great job! I love the fabric! You are so talented, I love all of your creations, you have an excellent talent for alterations, I'm jealous!
Beautiful color! love the pleats on the front and the high waist works for you. Good job.
GORGEOUS skirt!! It reminds me of something from the 1930s; very elegant!
I like it! But then, I usually love high waisted skirts.... ;) It must have been hard to get those pleats in with such a heavy fabric, so good idea to sew them in place.
Really gorgeous. You are so talented!
I love the fabric, color and the pleat insert thing. Very cute!
Your Sidonie is looking really great. I like the high waist and the pleats give your skirt an interesting look. Beautiful!
Very creative. What a classy look. Man, I wish high waisted things didn't make my belly look huge, because I love the look of this.
You have created a refined, sophisticated skirt. The high waist is so stylish, and the pleats add a nice vintage touch.
this is fantastic--I love the pleated front!
