I found this great gold stamped on gray and black batik at my local market (I know batik sometimes looks more like tye dye, but it's actually the name of the printing technique using wax to determine where the dye will go, this one has 'orginal batik' printed on the border, so I guess it is) and I knew this would be a) something completely different and b) really my colour despite being so gold and bold. I took it to my sewing lesson for consideration and we deceided to make the most of the print. The waist piece was a print at the right edge of the fabric. I made small darts matching the print in order to shape it. The cuffs were another bit of border print.
I just added some detail shots of the cuffs and part of the waist piece with bust and skirt gathers. These show of the fabric nicely, and I hope you can just see one of the tiny darts that shape the waist piece.
