Indonesian batik dress

Description

Please excuse my ANTM posing. My dress was self-drafted using the "pinch, pin, & sew method." (Not recommended--very tedious). This type of batik fabric is traditionally used in Indonesia as a sarong (a narrow, tightly wrapped skirt), however my dress in no way resembles a traditional Indonesian garment.

Materials

printed batik sarong fabric

stoked about flickr up for swap!

I love it! It MUST have been tedious though if you had to draft it ON YOURSELF with noone to help you! Still, it's worth it for such a gorgeous creation that suits you so well :o)

What a beautiful use of Indonesian sarong fabric. I have some that my mom brought over from Indo last time she visited me. Hope I can be as creative with it as you!
