my vintage desira... got this fabric for a whole dollar at another yard sale. LA is the land of yard sales. after making an anda dress for my friend and instantly becoming jealous that it was not MY anda dress, i was thrilled that i had enough fabric left for goodies for me!
i had to adjust the armholes several times, as this was before my new year's resolution of fitting before doing false french seams with topstitching up the sides (also know as a "pain in the ass to rip out" seam). (am i allowed to curse on burdastyle?)
i also did as looong a belt as i could so i could wrap it for a cinched waist.

Cute fabric! The cap sleeves turned out great!
Great fabric choice!
Looks good to me. Boy, It must be grand to have a waist that shows.
I love it and the fabric. I wish I had one as I have a very similar necklace and it goes so well with your top.
thanks evisann & sunnyb! i thought at first this fabric was a silly impulse buy, but now i'm glad for it :)
nehmah: it's all mirrors and fog...
and wenstupen, at first i thought your post said "neckline", and i thought, "yeah, we've both got nice straight shoulders!"
too much wine tonight...
another great fabric choice! I´m so envious ;), cause I can´t get such beautiful fabrics here!
Great job on this!
That really looks great and your fabric is really cute.
O.k....you've inspired me!! I've been going to make one of these for days but keep making myself dresses instead. Tonights the night!!
I LOVE this! Good idea to make the belt longer. It makes the look fresher. I just wish I was at home sewing now instead of at work.
