I picked up this blue/grey wool in a remnant bin and I had a lovely coat pattern that I wanted to make for my daughter. I looked for some velvet for the collar and pocket welts and couldn't find anything I liked. Then I had a brain-wave and realised that I could use my favorite cardigan that I had worn through the elbows. I'm so pleased that she has such a pretty coat for £10 and my cardigan lives on.

So cute! What a great mom you are! And great recycling job- great use of the sweater!
very cute! i love it!
Nice recycling. Looks adorable and I hope she loves it.
When I was little I would have loved to have had a coat like that! My mom made me all the dresses I could have wanted, but never a coat like that, what a lucky little girl you have! It's beautiful and great idea with the cardigan!
it's really cute! I'm starting a coat and I hope it turns out half as pretty as yours!
I adore this coat. I want one for myself!
That is supercute and it looks very well made as well.
really cute coat!!
This is gorgeous. I love how you used your old cardigan.
What an eye-catcher! I love the idea! Maybe fabric-covered buttons would have been nice too!
It's just perfect!
