    In german it is called "Spiralstahl", that would mean "spiral steel", I don't know the word in englisch :) http://www.piccoli-shop.de/artikel/adele-m.jpg

    I think it's called spring steel in english, and I have been haveing a hard time finding a pattern, but i found this website that draws your pattern for you, you just have to type in your measurements... http://www.elizabethancostume.net/custompat/index.html
