Description

My very first corset, created mainly as a beginning to Victorian costuming but also because I love corsets and I've been dreaming of making a corset for a very long time.

Great work and it fits you perfectly. What did you use for boning?

way too busy for loads of sewing

Wow! It looks absolutely amazing! Great choice of fabric, very neatly made and it looks like it fits really well. I've made a corset myself once, but didn't use a fancy fabric. It was ment to go under my (still in UFO state) victorian dress. I'm still considering doing another one and seeing yours, I think I should give it a go.

    exploding with ideas.

Thank you! The pattern I used is Truly Victorian 110. It's a fairly easy to make corset with a very good fit. The instructions are very clear, also (most importantly) on sizing the pattern. For boning I used white steel and spiral steel. 1 tip for those of you who want to make a corset: just do it! Don't be scared or intimidated. I was and looking back it went like a dream and I was wondering what I was so scared of :) Planning on making more, but first I have to get started on the rest of my Victorian outfit.

Good luck! And don't forget to put up the pictures ;)
