Description

A halter-style, fitted and flared apron. I vamped up the retro feel by choosing this cherry print novelty cotton. I will definitely be making some of the other styles from this pattern, as well! (Simplicity 3752)

Materials

Several yards of cotton fabric and thread.

Credits

My kitten, Miles, who always takes a keen interest in anything and everything I'm sewing. He is sleeping in the bottom of the 3rd picture, but, it appears, was cropped out.

And thank goodness for that flash on my camera... Sunny days in MI are hard to come by lately!

    sewing summer clothes.

Lovely, I'm looking forward to summer too. Don't use kitten as the undergarment please, it might be illegal. Kidding.

I thought it was a dress too, until I read the description! Great choice of fabric, and it looks like it will be a lot of fun to wear.

What a great apron-- and extra motivation to whip up a hot meal on those cold, gray MI days! Well done:)

Put me down as another one who thought it was a dress- and a gorgeous one! You should so wear it in the summertime!

I thought too it was a dress... Still, I think I'd wear it as a top over a tiered or circle skirt, it's just too cute to be stained in the kitchen!!!

    eating lots of cupcakes!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. After tying this on the dress form, I also thought it looked like a dress! It gave me two thoughts: either I could make another and add a zipper to the back to create a dress, or I could modify some future dress patterns to create new aprons!

I love it! I was another who thought it was a dress until reading the description. I made myself a dress similar to this and it is great to wear. Love your idea about aprons also, never thought of that before.

    sewing or wishing she was

it's so beautiful. i had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact it's an apron, not a dress. i'd be scared to wear it near a kitchen. lol.
